In the BMW 525xi and 530xi, the intelligent all-wheel drive system xDrive ensures optimum tracking and excellent traction on all surfaces. For dynamic and agile driving on dry tarmac, xDrive distributes 40% of power to the front wheels and 60% to the rear wheels. If sensors detect a change in the road surface (for example, while driving in wintry conditions), xDrive responds instantly to redistribute power and counter any under- or oversteering.
