My BMW App*.
The My BMW App* connects you virtually with your BMW whenever and wherever you wish and, thanks to its modern design, intuitive operation and comprehensive functions, offers you a completely new experience of mobility. When using it, you not only have the status of your vehicle constantly in view, such as the charge level or available range, but are also able to interact with and program your vehicle very conveniently on your smartphone. For instance, you can plan your journey in advance and in comfort on your smartphone and then simply send your destination to the navigation system in your vehicle. At the same time, the My BMW App* will always show you the nearest public charging station along with its availability. During the charging operation, you keep track of the current charge level at all times and can precondition the interior of your vehicle as ideal preparation for the journey – or set a corresponding timer to do this. You will also find details on all the previous charging operations as well as your BMW Points allocation in the My BMW App. With these and many other functions and services, the My BMW App* assures you of carefree mobility and even more sheer electric driving pleasure – regardless of where you happen to be.

Connected Charging.
Farewell to range anxiety: with BMW Connected Charging you use the range of your BMW electric car particularly efficiently. You have already planned your journey on your smartphone via the My BMW App* and sent it to your vehicle, whereupon the navigation system automatically calculates the optimum route and displays it for you. If the destination lies outside of the available electric range of your vehicle, which you can view at any time via the range radius, a charging stop will be added to your route automatically. This means that you always have all the relevant information at your fingertips: type of plug required, available charging currents, opening times and costs for the charging station as well as points of interest in the direct surroundings, such as a cafe or restaurant. When travelling, you can call on the voice-controlled BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant at any time for answers and helpful tips. For instance, try asking: “Hey BMW, how can I increase my range?”

BMW eDrive Zones & BMW Points.
All over the world, more and more cities are setting up areas in which the traffic is either prohibited entirely or only permitted to a limited extent. In German cities, for example, you will encounter so-called environmental zones, which reduce the burden of exhaust fumes and CO2 emissions locally by limiting the pollutant quantities. In order to enable and promote emission-free travel through these environmental zones to the greatest extent possible, we have developed BMW eDrive Zone. Your BMW plug-in hybrid thus recognises automatically when it is entering an environmental zone and switches over independently to a locally emission-free, purely electric driving mode. Every kilometre you cover electrically brings you bonus points which you collect as part of the BMW Points scheme, and in the specific inner-city zones and environmental zones, the number of points actually doubles. You can view and manage them in the My BMW App*. The BMW Points can then be converted into useful rewards, such as free BMW Charging allowances.
FAQ: THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON CHARGING.
What is BMW Charging?
BMW Charging is our all-round worry-free solution for charging your BMW. Products and services from BMW Charging provide you with numerous tailor-made offers for charging at home and at public charging stations. The charging cable (Mode 3) for public charging and the BMW Charging Card are already included with the standard equipment. At the latest within 24 hours of being activated, it gives you unlimited access to the widely distributed public charging network in inner cites, at car parks and along key arterial routes – including high-power charging stations for ultra-fast charging. How can I charge my BMW electric car and plug-in hybrid at home?
The standard charging cable with a 2.3 kW capacity is often supplied as standard with your electric BMW.* Five metres in length, it generally ensures access to a domestic socket. Use of an extension cable and multi-plug connectors is prohibited. A charging rate of 1.3 kW at 6 A is set as the default. You can either switch this limit on current off entirely in the vehicle settings menu or set the AC charging current to the precise amperage and according to your electrical installation.
A Wallbox is an especially convenient, fast and safe way to charge that shortens the process considerably when compared with a domestic mains socket. Two models are available:
BMW WALLBOX ESSENTIAL.
Up to 22 kW charging capacity, weatherproof reduced design, integrated cable management
SMART WALLBOX.
The Smart Wallbox from our partner provides extended functions for connectivity and intelligent control of charging at home.

A charging target of 80 percent covers all of your everyday routes. If you do actually need greater range occasionally, you can simply set a higher charging target. What should I look out for when charging my BMW plug-in hybrid?
As its name suggests, a plug-in hybrid can be charged from a socket, a Wallbox or at a public charging station. Charge your BMW plug-in hybrid as often as possible so that you can always make full use of the additional electric drive.

What is the difference between charging with alternating current (AC), direct current (DC) and a high power charging point (HPC)?
Essentially it is the duration of the charging operation. The time taken to charge electric vehicles (depending on the cable or charging station) takes longer with alternating current (AC), while direct current (DC) is significantly faster. Ultra-fast charging with direct current (DC) is possible with a high-power charging stations (HPC), such as those operated by our partner IONITY in Europe. There the battery of a BMW iX3, for example, is charged from 0% to 80% with a capacity of up to 150 kW in only 34 minutes – the maximum vehicle charging capacity in each case depends on the market-specific infrastructure.
Please note that in the case of DC and HPC charging, you should keep holding the plug on the vehicle until it locks in place. In this way, you can ensure that the charging operation will start without any problems.
Plug-in hybrids are charged exclusively with alternating current (AC) – hence conveniently via a socket, Wallbox or a public alternating current charging station. How do I get a High Power Charging tariff option?

All you need to do is set the appropriate filter. Then, with a BMW iX3, for instance, you can enjoy the particular convenience of its charging capacity of up to 150 kW to top up your range by as much as 100 km in about ten minutes while you stop for a coffee. The values of the vehicles labelled with (1) are preliminary.
The information on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption has been determined in accordance with the prescribed measurement procedure VO (EU) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model.
Further information about the official fuel consumption and the official specific CO2 emissions for new passenger automobiles can be found in the 'New Passenger Vehicle Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emission Guidelines', which are available free of charge at all sales outlets and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany and on https://www.dat.de/co2
The values are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. For vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.
